Exceptional Graduate Faculty Mentor Award 2025-2026 AY

Award Nominee Eligibility:     

  • permanently employed faculty at CU Boulder   
  • currently advising CU Boulder graduate students  
  • has not won the EGFMA in the last 5 years.
One individual nomination per graduate unit per academic year.

Nomination Submission Criteria:
A single nomination dossier pdf will need to be uploaded during form submission and must meet the criteria below. The nomination dossier will be shared with each nominee after the selection process is complete. 

Nomination dossiers must be initiated by one of the following:    
  • currently active CU Boulder graduate student   
  • CU Boulder faculty/staff  
All nomination dossiers must include a minimum of 3 letters (in one PDF):    
  • letter nominating the individual, specifically addressing the criteria below  
  • letter(s) of support from current/past student advisees (minimum of one current advisee letter, maximum of three current/past advisee letters)   
  • letter of support from the unit chair or division head  
Information to include in letters of support:
  • Outstanding contributions to mentoring individual graduate students  
  • Improving the overall climate of graduate education within their program  or
  • Improving the graduate program itself
Letters may also address issues such as advisee load, quality of interaction with students, the individual’s efforts to continually improve and enhance their mentoring skills, and other outstanding characteristics.
